 Podcast FAQs

1. What is a Podcast?
Podcasting is a way for you to automatically get a video or audio file on your computer for playback. These files can be played on the computer, burned to CD, or loaded on a portable device such as an iPod. Once you subscribe to a podcast the software stays updated with the most recent messages automatically. A high speed internet connection is recommended due to the large file sizes.

2. How do I Subscribe?
The easiest way for you to subscribe to the podcast is to use iTunes on a PC or a Mac. Click the subscribe in iTunes link under the audio or video players. If you don't have iTunes you can download it from Apple. Most modern web browsers have the ability to open the RSS feeds without the need for additional software. These are located under the players also.

3. Do I need an iPod?
No. Any media player that supports podcasting or the file formats of .mp3 and .mp4 will work.

4. How much does it cost?
There is no cost for the podcast.

5. Where can I get older messages not available on the podcast?
The Outfitter Bookstore has older messages available on CD for $3 per message.

6. Where can I get more information on podcasting?

Here is a Wikipedia article that goes into more depth on podcasting.

Apple has some tips for podcasting and iTunes here.
